History

Jean Cocteau fue un poeta, novelista, dramaturgo, pintor, guionista y director de cine francés. Cocteau, destacó desde su infancia, por su pasión por las artes, a los 10 años, comenzó a escribir y publicó un libro de poemas, con 16 años. Tuvo una vida sentimental intensa, manteniendo relaciones con hombres y mujeres.

Realizó doce películas en su carrera, que se caracterizan por pertenecer al género surrealista, estaban llenas de simbolismo. Gracias a esto, se le considera como uno de los Directores de cine vanguardistas, más importantes. Entre sus títulos más destacados, se pueden encontrar: La bella y la bestia (1946), Los niños terribles (1950), Orfeo (1950) y Tomás, el impostor (1965).

Jean Cocteau was a French poet, novelist, dramatist, painter scriptwriter and film director. Cocteau stood out since he was a child for his passion for arts. At the age of 10, he began to write and published a poems book when he was 16 years old. He had an intense love life, having relationships with both men and women.

He filmed twelve movies in his career that set apart for being part of the surrealist genre and having a lot of symbolism. Thanks to this, he is considered one of the most important film directors of the Avant-garde. Among his most outstanding movies are: "Beauty and the Beast" (1946), "Les Enfants Terribles" (1950), "Orpheus" (1950) and "Thomas the Impostor" (1965)
